Welcome to Joanne Hitch Counselling

I offer a space to make sense of your thoughts, emotions, and inner world within a safe and confidential listening space.

Life can feel overwhelming and challenging at times, particularly when you are carrying anxiety, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, or a sense that something does not feel quite right.

You may feel stuck, exhausted, or unsure where to turn.

I offer a calm, confidential space where you can slow down, feel truly heard, and begin to make sense of what is happening for you.

What's it like working with me?

Counselling and therapy in a safe, comfortable and private setting

About me

I am an MBACP-registered counsellor working with adults, children, and adolescents. I hold a Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling, with a specialism in working with children and young people.

In addition, I am a certified Sand Tray Therapist and hold a certificate in Couples and Relationship Counselling. My approach is integrative and tailored to the individual needs of each client, providing a safe, supportive, and confidential space for exploration and growth.

My approach

My approach to counselling is client-led and person-centred, with each session tailored to meet the individual needs of the client. I work integratively, drawing on a range of therapeutic theories to support each person in a way that feels right for them.

I am also a sand tray therapist and work creatively using mediums such as sand, clay, and art. These approaches can be particularly helpful for adults, children and young people, or for anyone who finds it easier to express thoughts and feelings in non-verbal ways.

Counselling can help

Counselling can support you with a range of issues

Your first session

You can expect a warm welcome and a gentle introduction. I understand that coming to a first session can feel uncertain or even a little daunting, and that’s completely normal.

Therapy is a collaborative process, and we will work at a pace that feels right for you. There is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to.

During our first meeting, we will also go through the counselling agreement. This important information about confidentiality, session structure, and how we will work together. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask any questions or raise any concerns.

After that, the space will be yours to begin sharing what has brought you to counselling, in whatever way feels most comfortable.

Getting in touch with me

I offer free, no stress introductory calls

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting my aim is to make it as comfortable as possible. If you are considering therapy for yourself or your child, I invite you to get in touch for an initial, no-obligation conversation.

We can arrange a brief call to talk through what has brought you here, ask any questions you may have, and explore whether counselling feels like the right next step. If we decide to work together, we can then arrange your first session at a time that suits you.

I aim to make the process as simple and supportive as possible, offering a calm and welcoming space from the very first contact.
